Last November the City of Edmonton ran an open house at the Arts Barns in Old Strathcona to unveil four options for redevelopment of the 103rd and 104th Street approaches to the new
bridge that is being planned to replace the Walterdale Bridge in the river valley. The Walterdale requires replacing and will not be repaired. City engineers have declared that it is now at the end of it’s useful life. In addition to the replacement of the bridge, work is underway to plan various access routes to this bridge from 103rd and 104th Streets. These new access routes will undoubtedly cause residents some concern for the river valley and the surrounding neighbourhoods. Please look at the following options supplied by the City of Edmonton as presented at the November meeting at the Arts Barns. If you have comments we will be discussing this subject at the Jan 11th, 2011 General Meeting of The Garneau Community League at the City Arts Centre at 7:30pm. If you cannot attend, please forward your comments by email to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) on the CONTACT US page.
This PDF file contains the 4 Options which demonstrate the location for the new bridge in the river for the approaches to the new bridge as they come down from the south bank.
